Last week, we announced that we are hiring for our 2025 season at JOYRide. Our JOYDrivers are the heart and soul of JOYRide. We thought it might be fun to give you a first-hand account of what a typical day looks like behind the wheel and cruising around town as a JOYDriver.
A Day in the Life of A JOYDriver:
Imagine yourself ready for the day; it’s a gorgeous 80-degree day in June, and the sun is shining. The day is full of possibilities!
Your JOYDriving shift is about to begin. You arrive at the JOYRide warehouse and see in the distance the familiar gleam of the sleek JOYRide pedicab, your ride for the day. You grab your name tag and water bottle, adjust your seat, and do the safety check of your trike for the day before heading out for the day.
This day is what we dream about in early March; the weather is perfect, and you’re getting paid to cruise to Washington Park and all the other hot spots in town! You’re cruising with the sunshine on your face and the breeze in your hair. As you pedal over to Washington Park, heads turn, and people wave.
Throughout your shift, you are picking up and dropping off JOYRide guests. With each guest, you greet them and ask about their day. You offer suggestions on cool things to do here in Michigan City and where to eat. You’re thrilled to be able to give some insider knowledge, and your guests are delighted to have the scoop and all the best info around town from an expert, you.
Between rides, you visit places with the crowds and chat with people intrigued by what you’re driving. It’s a perfect time to explain what JOYRide is all about and hand out our brochures. Everyone loves the concept, and you can see why we named the company JOYRide. People cannot help but smile when interacting with the trikes and our brand. You’re a big part of that, too, because you’re friendly and accommodating.
Before you know it, your shift is coming to an end, and you’re kind of sad that it is over. You head back to HQ and plug your trike back into the garage. You think to yourself, what a fun day! I get to be outside at all the best places in Michigan City; this job is so much fun!
