Arf! Hi, my name is Dezi. I’m a fluffy, fun-loving Havanese, a Cuban breed, which is why my mom Rose named me Dezi, after Desi Arnaz! She’s the best mom in the whole world. Whenever she goes to a restaurant, park, or store, she brings me with her! I love visiting Michigan City; there’s always delicious food, amazing smells, and nice people. Arf-avorite Pet Friendly Restaurants
Leed’s Public House
This restaurant is known for being pet-friendly and a total treat. Their outdoor patio makes this the best place for all of the barks and bites! Located in the Uptown Arts District, my mom and I love to come to Leed’s after a long day of playing fetch. Don’t forget to wear your lead when your paw-rents take you here! Their staff is very friendly, and will welcome well-behaved, leashed dogs.
Fluid Coffee Roasters
Fluid Coffee Roasters is a paw-fee shop located downtown. My mom says she needs coffee to keep up with me, but I just like saying hello to everyone who walks by. Dogs are welcome on the outside patio, where they even have a water bowl for all of their furry friends!
Bridges Waterside Grille
This restaurant is pet-friendly, delicious, and located on the water, which means there are so many different smells drifting around! They have a breezy outdoor seating area where my mom likes to relax, and I like to keep an eye on the ducks. If we get lucky, we even get to watch the bridge turn, which is the best part (besides the pretzel bites with cheese)!
A Paw-some Park

My absolute favorite thing in the whole wide world is to go to the park with my mom! We love visiting Creek Ridge. This park is a doggy paradise, with plenty of long hiking trails where I like to walk with my mom, bark at squirrels, and smell all the flowers. They even have a huge, no-leash dog exercise and play area where my mom lets me run around and make friends.
The Paw-fect Pet Store
Brandt’s Fashion Emporium
Oh boy, oh boy! This local pet supply store is a dream come true for a little Havanese pup like me. Brandt’s has all of my favorite things, like yummy treats, squeaky toys, and special dog food that keeps my fur shiny! My mom said if I help her write this blog, she’ll take me here to pick out the biggest toy I can find. My tail is wagging just thinking about it!
Try The Dezi-Approved Day Out For Yourself!
Well, that was the best day ever! My tail hurts from wagging it at all the fun things we did. I had so much fun visiting my favorite restaurants, park, and pet store, and I can’t wait to go back. For now, I think I’m gonna curl up in my mom’s lap and dream about chasing squirrels at Creek Ridge. I can’t wait for all of my furry friends to try all of these tail-wagging places.
