Ready to squeeze every last drop out of fall? We have the perfect fall itinerary. Start the day surrounded by pumpkins and hay bales, grab a festive drink, do some shopping for something cozy, then head outside for a hike through the changing leaves. Sounds like a pretty perfect Saturday? We think so. And the best part is that you can do it right here in Michigan City.

We’ve mapped out a few stops that will give you a full day of fall fun, with plenty of opportunities to shop, explore, and enjoy the season along the way. So grab your favorite fall sweater and let’s go!

Start Your Morning At Sevick’s Gardens

First stop: Sevick’s Gardens. Fall practically takes over this local favorite, making it the perfect place to kick off your day. Outside, there are plenty of pumpkins, corn husks, and hay bales, making this the perfect stop for some seasonal decor.

While you’re there, be sure to head inside for some fun fall treats! They have a speciality apple butter, which feels like fall in a jar. Pick some up to take home and enjoy later, or grab a few extras for friends and family. Sevick’s is a great stop for the atmosphere alone. It’s hard not to get into the seasonal spirit when you’re surrounded by pumpkins, fall treats, and all the cozy colors of autumn.

Grab A Fall Drink At Lakeshore Cafe

Once you’ve gotten your fill of pumpkins, head over to Lakeshore Cafe for a festive fall drink!

Lakeshore Cafe’s beautifully decorated porch is adorned with pumpkins and festive fall touches. Walking in immediately puts you in the mood for changing leaves, cozy sweaters, and everything else we love about autumn. They also have a specialty fall drink menu. If you like trying something new, there are plenty of seasonal options to choose from. The Seasons Changing is a sparkling London Fog topped with forest pine cold foam, while Fall Spices combines white mocha with brown sugar and cinnamon for a sweet, cozy treat.

Looking for something a little more classic? Try the Hot Caramel Cider, featuring hot apple cider with caramel, or the Pumpkin Chai, available hot or iced and packed with pumpkin spices. For something cold and refreshing, the Caramel Apple Cremosa combines apple Italian soda with salted caramel cold foam. And, of course, pumpkin spice fans can get their fix with the Pumpkin Spice Draft Latte, a classic pumpkin spice-flavored oat milk draft latte. The hardest part might be choosing just one!

Walk To Wren On Wabash

After your coffee break, take a walk down the road to Wren on Wabash. It’s the perfect next stop because it’s right down the street from Lakeshore Cafe after you’ve had your first seasonal drink of the year.

If you’ve been following along with our Michigan City Insider adventures, you should already know that Wren is one of our favorite local spots for finding something special. Keep an eye out for a cozy new sweater to add to your fall wardrobe, a new candle, blankets, and fall decor that will make your home feel just as cozy as the season outside. If you’re trying to create the perfect fall atmosphere in your home, Wren can help!

Finish With A Hike At Hansen Park

Now that you’ve gathered a few pumpkins, gotten a festive drink, and perhaps a new sweater or candle, it’s time to get outside and see the changing leaves! Head to Hansen Park for a fall hike and enjoy the best part of the season: leaf peeping!

The park offers a peaceful place to walk, explore, and take in the changing scenery. The trails give you a chance to see the fall colors up close, breathe in that crisp autumn air, and enjoy a little quiet time surrounded by nature. Bring the family, meet up with friends, or make it a solo outing. You might even spot some local birds along the way. Hansen Park is a beautiful place to go leaf-peeping and take a crisp, fall-air hike.
