The Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade
The celebration kicks off with one of the most anticipated events of the season: the Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday, March 14, at 1:00 p.m. in the Uptown Arts District. There’s nothing quite like lining the streets as bagpipes echo down Franklin Street and floats roll by decked out in shamrocks and green streamers. It’s the perfect event for all ages, whether you’re bringing the kids to collect candy or meeting friends to kick off a full day of festivities.
Be sure to keep an eye out for JOYRide in the parade! Our trikes will be decked out in green and ready to roll. It’s one of our favorite events of the year, and we love seeing familiar faces cheering along the route. Be sure to wave and snap a photo when you see us cruising by!
After-Party At Patrick’s Grille
After the parade wraps up, keep the fun going at Patrick’s Grille! Join the celebration on March 14th, beginning at 2 p.m., as this local favorite opens its doors early to keep the party going.
After walking in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, they’ll be ready to welcome parade-goers inside for a specialty Irish food and drink menu available all night. From hearty classics to festive cocktails, it is the perfect way to refuel and raise a glass. Plus, enjoy live music from 3 to 6 p.m., for an afternoon of St. Patrick’s Day fun with friends.

Classic Corned Beef and Cabbage at Local Favorites
After the parade, it is time to dig into one of the most iconic St. Patrick’s Day meals: corned beef and cabbage. Two longtime Michigan City staples are serving up hearty plates that are well worth the visit.
Ritz Klub Tavern
At Ritz Klub Tavern, you can enjoy a special corned beef and cabbage dinner starting next week and continuing through the holiday. The Ritz Klub is known for its welcoming atmosphere, beer on tap, and comfort food that hits the spot. Pair your meal with a pint of Guinness, the classic Irish beer that has become synonymous with St. Patrick’s Day celebrations around the world.
While you’re there, don’t miss their March Burger of the Month: The Irishman! This hearty creation features a 1/4 lb patty topped with sliced corned beef, Irish cheddar and Swiss, Guinness-marinated caramelized onions, kraut, pickles, and 1000 island dressing, all served on a brioche bun with fries. It’s bold, flavorful, and exactly the kind of indulgent meal you want on a holiday like this.
Saint Joseph Young Men’s Society
Another great option for a traditional dinner is Saint Joseph Young Men’s Society, often referred to locally as the St. Joe Club. Known for its community events and welcoming atmosphere, it is a classic spot to gather with friends and enjoy a comforting, home-style corned beef and cabbage meal.

If you’re 21 and over and looking to keep the celebration going, the Paddywagon Pub Crawl on Saturday, March 14, from 2 to 9 p.m., is the ultimate way to experience the best of Michigan City’s bar scene. Even better, all proceeds benefit LaPorte County Meals on Wheels, so you can have fun while supporting a meaningful cause!
